What We Offer:
At our Bayside Rental Stand, we rent kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, bicycles, and clam rakes, making it easy for you to explore the natural beauty of the bay. Our knowledgeable staff is here to help you select the perfect equipment and guide you to the best spots for adventure. After a day of exploration, cool off with ice cream or a refreshing drink from our selection of snacks and beverages. You can also pick up souvenirs, apparel, ice, and firewood to complete your visit.

The Bayside Rental Stand is located inside of Assateague National Seashore at the end of Bayside Drive. While our address does not work on an old school GPS, you can plug "Assateague Outfitter's Bayside Rental Stand" into Google Maps and it will bring you right to us. During the summer, the kayak stand is open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm.

Wildlife Kayak Tours

Our wildlife tours are a fantastic way to explore the island and see the wildlife while lead by one of our knowledgeable tour guides. The tour is done in single or double kayaks and lasts between 2-2.5 hours. Our guide will identify wildlife and tell you about the great history of Assateague and it's ecosystem. Explore Assateague Island with Our Self-Guided Kayak and Bicycle Rentals

Experience the beauty of Assateague Island at your own pace with our flexible kayak and bicycle rentals, available for durations ranging from 2 hours to a full week. All kayak rentals include life jackets and paddles at no extra cost, and we provide a brief paddle instruction and safety talk to ensure you’re ready to explore the best spots on the island. Our bike rentals come equipped with helmets, and a basket can be added if desired. Simply choose your rental duration and click one of the blue 'Book' buttons below to secure your adventure. ​Rates do not include entrance fee to Assateague Island National Seashore. The park fee is $25 per vehicle, and is valid for 7 days. Dogs are permitted on rentals, but are not allowed on tours.

*Overnight Rental Information and Guidelines: Overnight, Weekend and Full Week rentals all originate and return to the Bayside Rental Stand. Overnight rentals are available for: backcountry campers, campers with bayside camp sites and renters willing and able to transport equipment to desired location. We strongly recommend launching from our location, but if you wish to transport equipment, you must have a capable vehicle (truck or SUV/car with racks) and straps or ropes to secure it. AO are not responsible for any damage to your vehicle.
*Full Day Rental is for use and return within our posted opening hours, must return before we close for the day. 
*Overnight Rental is for 24 hours from when you rented, so if you rented in the morning return the following morning.
